Integration

Why Integration

The United Arab Emirates Association for Congenital Heart Diseases aims to make a significant difference in the lives of individuals living with congenital heart disease and their families. It aspires to enable all individuals affected by congenital heart defects to live safe and healthy lives without any limitations. It paves the way for future generations, focusing on lifelong care for those with congenital heart diseases, empowering them to face the daily challenges of living with the condition, improving their quality of life, and providing them with a sense of belonging. This is accomplished through the Integration Program, which includes medical care and moral support, contributing to effective integration and engagement in the community.

Here are some ways to achieve this: It is vital to improve the lives of children and adults with congenital heart diseases and understand their impact on individuals and their surroundings. We have great hope that efforts to educate the public will ultimately lead to a reduction in deaths related to congenital heart diseases.
Support Groups: Establishing support groups for congenital heart patients and their families contributes to a sense of belonging and effective communication with the community. These groups provide emotional and moral support and serve as a platform for exchanging information, experiences, and challenges among individuals affected by congenital heart challenges and their families. They promote a better understanding of health and how to live with the disease.
Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Collaboration with healthcare providers and community institutions is of utmost importance. This collaboration helps organize events, activities, workshops, and educational programs to enhance the well-being of congenital heart patients and their families. It also assists in identifying and addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by these individuals.
School and Workplace: Direct follow-up ensures that individuals with congenital heart diseases receive appropriate support in educational and professional environments. Schools and workplaces should have implemented policies that meet the specific and reasonable needs of affected individuals, flexible schedules, access to medical resources, and information about congenital heart diseases, including guidance for identifying and addressing the challenges faced by individuals in school and workplace settings.
Integrating individuals with congenital heart diseases into society requires a multifaceted approach, including education, support, empowerment, cooperation, and community awareness. By promoting understanding, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging, we can create a community that embraces and supports individuals with congenital heart diseases, enabling them to live safe and healthy lives.

Assessment of Variables at Rest and During Exercise
table containing rating sports variations
Athletes with congenital heart diseases who wish to participate in competitive sports must undergo a comprehensive assessment of the five main criteria at rest and during exercise, as needed. The proposed plan allows for individual recommendations that must be balanced with the athlete's desires and aspirations. Once the plan is approved, it must be regularly reviewed. Each review should reevaluate all five parameters and any changes in the athlete's goals.
